Simon Mueller

Born and raised in Germany, Simon graduated first of his class from the Georg-Simon-Ohm University of Applied Sciences in Nuremberg in 2006. During a year in Bolzano, Italy he fell in love with the vibrant design landscape of South Tyrol and its innovative timber architecture.

In 2008 Simon moved to South Africa and joined Louis Karol Architects in Cape Town to work on the iconic Greenpoint Stadium and other large scale projects in Cape Town und Durban.

In 2013 he joined Michael Rudolph of MJR Architects in Cape Town, a boutique design practice with a variety of projects. Together they won the prestigious Rolls Royce African Property Awards for best African, Kenyan and International Residential Development for the Palm Valley Estate in Nairobi.

In 2018 he founded Rudolph Mueller Architects together with Michael Rudolph.

In 2021, after the birth of his son, he started Simon P Mueller Architecture in the coastal town of Kommetjie. Here he is focusing on finding the ideal design solutions for his projects in Cape Town and Johannesburg. Simon always enjoyed the hands-on approach of architectural projects and the complex journey from design sketch to the finished building. Simon is well versed in the building regulations and is the Controlling Architect for a residential estate in Constantia.
